Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY ANTHONY ZIMMER Suddenly on Monday, February 4, 2008, at the Portage District General Hospital, Stanley Anthony Zimmer of Portage la Prairie, widower of the late Nadia Zimmer, passed away at the age of 64 years. Prayers will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Friday, February 8, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Father Michael Wollbaum officiating. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Stanley was born on December 12, 1943, in Glenavon, Saskatchewan, to Frank and Emily Zimmer. He was employed with the Canadian Armed Forces for 32 years, specializing as an electrician. He served in various areas overseas (Cyprus, Russia, Alert). He retired in 1995 in Winnipeg, continually residing in the Southport District. He had a hobby farm and raised cattle. He liked playing cards, fishing, hunting and auction sales. He sponsored a child through World Vision. He was also a commissionaire. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Emily, his wife Nadia, he leaves to mourn his passing two sons, Sean and Robert (Stacey), one daughter Sharon (Bill), two grandchildren, Jordann and Jessica. Also surviving are two sisters, Jeanette (Len) Lutz of Regina, Mary Ann (Brent) Mulner of Medicine Hat and several nieces and nephews. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6, or Central Plains Cancer Care Services, 318 Saskatchewan Ave. E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 0K8.
