JOHN (JACK) EDWARD WILLIAMS POWELL August 15, 1941 February 2, 2008 With courage and dignity to the strains of Stompin' Tom, Jack Powell passed away at the Lions Gate Hospital on February 2, 2008, surrounded by his family. Son of Gwendoline and the late John Hutton Powell, he is survived by his wife of 41 years, Joan (Stafford), sons, Robert John (Cheryl Matiation) of Sarnia, and David George (Celine) of Calgary, grandchildren, Miranda Baronins and Brianne Powell. Also survived by siblings, Cynthia and Gregory Powell (Ottawa), aunt, Ruby Spence, sister-in-law, Bonnie Kozlowski, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as dear friends, Jim and Lorraine Gilbert, Barry and Bev Stanhope, and Glen and Susan Powell. Jack worked in business forms sales prior to joining Property Operations at MTS, retiring in June, 2001. Beloved by all who knew him, Jack was known for his quick wit and charm, hospitality, generosity, kindness, and allegiance to Captain Morgan. He was a member of the LacLu Campers Association and Fort Garry Legion No. 90. Our undying thanks to Dr. G. Schroeder and Kaleigh for going above and beyond on Jack's behalf. A celebration of his life will be held at Fort Garry Legion No. 90, Friday, February 8. Interment at a later date.
