Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJESSIE WRIGHT REITH (nee FRASER) June 9, 1920 - January 29, 2008 Jessie died peacefully with her devoted son Gary by her side, and with the knowledge that she was deeply loved. She was predeceased by her husband Leonard and her parents John and Mary Fraser. She is survived by her son Gary; daughter Deborah (Dave) Dollmont; brothers, Hugh and Jack; granddaughters, Cassandra, Emily and Laina; grandson Michael; great- granddaughters, Rachael and Sofie, and many other members of an extended family. Jessie arrived from Scotland with her parents in 1923, and the family settled near Bienfait, Saskatchewan. During her youth, she excelled in academics, sports and the performing arts, including piano, singing and dancing. She graduated from nursing at the Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg in 1942, and in 1947 married Leonard Reith of the Princess Patricias. Jessie and Len enjoyed several postings across Canada, where Jessie practiced nursing and donated much of her time and talent to community service. Following Len's untimely death in Kamloops in 1968, Jessie resumed full time nursing. After a stroke in 1992, she moved to Tsawwassen, BC, where she could receive care and attention from the west coast branch of her family. Always an R.N. at heart, Jessie had definite views about modern nursing standards and was always pleased to share them, particularly with nursing staff. Her strength and vitality were an inspiration to those who cared for her in her last years. The family sincerely thanks Dr. Adriana Wong and the staff at the Kinsmen Centre in Tsawwassen for the compassion and respect shown to Jessie. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing to remember Jessie is welcome to contribute to the charity of their choice.

After more than six years on the memories of Momma Jessie are as vivid as ever, even accentuated by the fact that her brothers Hugh and Jack have joined her in the great beyond. Now that whole generation is laid to rest. What I want you to know, mom, is that thanks to your love, support, patience and devotion, there are many persons alive today who are able to enjoy the life and vitality that you once had. Thanks mom. - Posted by: Gary (son) on: Mar 16, 2014
