Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) BAXTER September 16, 1916 February 8, 2008 Peacefully, on the morning of February 8, 2008, Bill passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre at the age of 91 years. He is survived by his only son Brian (Linda) and their children Karen (Chris), Steven (Jo-Anne), David (Cheryl) and Matthew (Kathryn). He was predeceased by his wife Isabel, in May 2001. Bill served in the Royal Canadian Navy for five and one-half years in the Second World War, as Chief Petty Officer. He worked at Eaton's for 36 years as a Stationary Engineer in the Power House, retiring at the age of 65 as Chief Engineer. He was a member of the Sons of Scotland, the Windsor Masonic Lodge and, the Royal Canadian Legion. He was Past Chief of the Chief P.O.'s Association of the Navy League of Canada. He was the Past Chief of the Universal Council of Engineer's and a longtime member of Regent's Park United Church. After his retirement from Eaton's he volunteered with special needs students in Winnipeg School Division #1. A funeral service will be held at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway, on Tuesday February 12, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Rest in peace, Grandad.
