STEPHEN PAIGE Suddenly on Monday, February 4, 2008, Stephen Paige passed away at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre. He was born in Winnipeg on March 23, 1912. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Mildred (Mimi) Paige and her husband Lothar Bahr of Toronto; son Thomas and his wife Bernice of Mississauga, Ontario; grandchildren Christy, Heidi, and Clayton and great-grandchildren Brittany, Lexa, Madison and Cole. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Maliniak of Welland, Ontario, brother Alec Roberecki of Winnipeg, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Stephen was predeceased by his wife Joanna, his brother Walter, and his sisters Helen and Lorea. Steve attended Norquay School, St. John's and Tec Voc High schools. He was the plant superintendent at Radio Oil Refineries for 24 years and a refinery process engineer for Shell Canada for 18 years until his retirement in 1978. Steve's interests include gardening and a love of nature. He enjoyed outings to zoos, parks, bird sanctuaries and museums. He was particularly knowledgeable about bird species and their migration. He traveled extensively through Canada and the United States. Those that knew Steve will remember him for his honesty, patience, and respect for others. He worked hard and he encouraged and assisted his children through university. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their compassionate care. Prayers will be said on Monday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 341 Munroe Ave. Luncheon to follow directly after the service. Interment at Holy Family Cemetery is to take place at a later date. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
