WALTER RUSSELL MCDONALD On Wednesday, February 6, 2008, Walter Russell McDonald went to be with his lord and saviour, Jesus Christ, at the age of 81. Walter was born in Winnipeg on November 1, 1926, to Walter and Noreen McDonald. He was born again by committing his life to Jesus Christ on October 1, 1978. Walter worked for Eaton's for 43 years, mainly in the mail order building on Graham Avenue, but later out at the Warehouse. He also drove for Moore's Taxi part-time. Walter was predeceased by his three sisters, whom he had always been very close to, Verna Hartz, Mickey (Muriel) McLennan (Harron) and Norma Whitehead, and by his special friend, Lydia Schmidt. He is survived by seven nieces and nephews, Norma McMullin (Don), Bruce Whitehead (Louise), Kathy Skinner (Paul), Sandra Whitehead, Alice Spence (Bob), Glenn Harron (Dayle) and Dave Harron (Twyla), and by numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. Walter is also survived by his dear cousin Joyce Gravatt (Tom). The family would like to thank Walter's friends for being there for him over the years and taking him to doctor's appointments and things like that. In particular, we would like to thank Michael Downes-Mitchell, Bob Baisinger and Mike Ivanchuk. We would like to express Walter's, and our, admiration and gratitude for the excellent care and for the friendship shown to Walter and to ourselves by the staff of Meadowwood Manor during his two and one-half year stay there. Walter's funeral will be held at Waves of Glory Chapel, on Furby St., just north of Portage Ave., on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Edwin Wiebe officiating.
