HENRY JOHN (BUD) MORETON
Born: Sep 21, 1926
Date of Passing: Feb 03, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHENRY JOHN (BUD) MORETON With broken hearts, we announce the sudden death of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Bud, in Sun Lakes, Arizona, on February 3, 2008, aged 81 years. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 57 years, Patricia, and their four children, Brenda (Dennis) of Owen Sound, Ontario; Patty (Colin) of Winnipeg, Manitoba; John (Marian) of The Pas, Manitoba; and Dick of Winnipeg, Manitoba, seven grandchildren, Mark, Dereck, Mathew, Ryan, Kelsey, Dayton and Logan and one great-granddaughter, Solaye and a sister, Carrie Anne Schmidt of Barrington, Illinois. On September 21, 1926, Bud was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he lived until he joined the US Navy, serving on the SS Ticonderoga. On discharge, he pursued a career in telecommunications and graduated from MIT with distinction. He moved to The Pas, Manitoba, and turned The Dial into a thriving business while pursuing Pat Russell. After a very short engagement they were married on November 1, 1951. Buds entrepreneurial spirit continued throughout his life, with his last business being Norman Cable. Bud was self taught in many fields, and could never satisfy his thirst for personal growth and knowledge. He had a very generous spirit and many people benefited from his vast understanding and his unconditional desire to help others improve their quality of life. Dad spent the last 12 years of his retirement enjoying family, friends, sunshine, computers and golf in Sun Lakes during the winter and at his paradise at Clearwater Lake during the summer. Dad had many wonderful experiences in his lifetime, but when asked what accomplishment he was most proud of he said his children and grandchildren. Bud's gift of ever lasting support and sense of humor will be sadly missed. Bud will be cremated and a memorial service will be held in July in The Pas, Manitoba. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dear Pat, Brenda, Patty, John, Dick and families, To all of you I extend my most heartfelt and sincere condolences in the loss of your Bud. What a perfect photo that shows his kind and gentle nature. Many times through my life I have talked of and thought of Bud. Three different times, in three different decades, he approached me to work for him. Every time I accepted and was always glad that I did. He taught me many things about business. He, and you too Pat, were true friends. I wish you all my deepest sympathies.
