Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISABELLA (BELLA) COOMBE August 25, 1926 - February 3, 2008 Bella passed away peacefully, supported by her family, after a brief illness at Foothills Hospital (Calgary) on Sunday, February 3, 2008. She was born in Faulkner, Manitoba, grew-up in Winnipeg completing normal school, and then began working as a bank teller and bookkeeper. She married Elvin James Jim on June 30, 1949 and was a loving wife and stay-at-home mother. She later returned to work as a bookkeeper/payroll clerk for Richlu Sportswear, Transair, and retired after 15 years service from Misericordia Hospital payroll department. Bella enjoyed reading, gardening, and puttering at the cottage at Louise Lake, Ontario where she and Jim spent many long summers enjoying the lake, outdoors, and visits from children and grandchildren. Jim and Bella moved to Calgary in 2000 to be closer to their family. Bella will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jim, daughter Barbara (Bob), sons Jim (Cathy) and Craig, and grandchildren David (Roxan), Laura Shanks, Brent and Brydon Coombe, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Bella's Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, Calgary on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation (200, 119 - 14 Street NW, Calgary AB. T2N 1Z6). Arrangements entrusted to MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME AND CEMETERY, Calgary, Alberta, 17 Avenue SE at Garden Road, (1.5 km east of 84th Street SE ) Telephone (403) 272 - 5555.
