Stella was a wonderful person and will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Roberta Snowaert, sons Roger and Maurice (Dolores), grandsons Cory Belot (Melody) and Brent Belot (Lucie), granddaughter-in-law Sheri Belot, great-grandchildren Korbin, Kadin, Ryan, Reece, Rayne and Jessie, sister Magdalen (Millie) Rojeski, sisters-in-law Elsie Turcan and Lucienne Rubigny, and many nieces and nephews. Stella was born to Joseph and Mary Turcan on January 3, 1915 in St. Boniface. She met her future husband Robert, when he was delivering milk from the family dairy farm. They were married in 1935, and established residence on the family farm where they raised their children. In 1967 they retired and moved to St. Vital. After many years of hard work, they were able to enjoy winters in Texas. Mom was a hard working and resourceful homemaker. She enjoyed tending a large garden and providing wonderful meals for her family and the hired help. Mom also did beautiful needlework, knitting and crocheting, and we all have lovely pictures and afghans in our homes. She was very caring and was a Mom to all our friends. The family extends their thanks to the staff at Tache Centre, 3ABC, and St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. In accordance with Mother's wishes, her funeral was delayed, cremation has taken place and a mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, February 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ The King Church, 847 St. Mary's Rd., with Fr. Renato Pasinato officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Compassionate Friends, 685 William Ave., R3E 0Z2, or Ronald McDonald House, 566 Bannatyne Ave., R3A 0G7.
