DENNIS HERMEL TESSIER May 11, 1931 - February 7, 2008 Dennis Hermel Tessier passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 7, 2008, at the Selkirk General Hospital at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by his wife Marie in 2001. Left to mourn are his sons Denis Tessier (Therese) and Guy Tessier (Heather) and daughters Marianne Petrachek (Richard) and Cecille McIntyre (Craig), grandchildren Jenna, Karsten, Sarah, Riley, Nicholas, Aaron, Cameron and Justin. Dennis is also survived by numerous relatives in Manitoba and Quebec. Born May 11, 1931, in Huntingdon, Quebec, Dad left home at an early age to pursue a driving career in Manitoba where he met and later married the love of his life Marie Hacault on October 7, 1956, in Bruxelles, MB. Dennis and Marie lived in Matlock for over 40 years where they raised their family, welcomed their friends and enjoyed their grandchildren. Their lovely yard was also a great playground for the grandchildren who loved to come out and ride the toys! Dad retired from Grey Goose Bus Lines on May 11, 1996. He was very proud of his 3 Million Miles professional driving award and numerous other driving achievements. Dad was also very proud of his Massey Ferguson and he spent countless hours on his tractor tending to his garden and the gardens of many others in Matlock and Winnipeg Beach. Dad enjoyed years of fishing and hunting and for many years he looked forward to the annual tell no tales fishing trips with his sons and son-in laws. In 2005 Dad received an Honorary Life Membership from the Knights of Columbus. He had made many friends at the Knight Centre where he resided until his passing. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, February 11, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church in Selkirk with Msgr. Louis McCloskey officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in Care of arrangements.
