Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER WASNEY January 22, 1918 - February 7, 2008 Peacefully on Thursday, February 7, 2008, Walter Wasney, of Highland Glen, MB, passed away at the age of 90 years. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helen, of 64 years, his children Bill (Donna), Donna (Bill) McGee and Gerald (Sweet Pea). He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren Trevor (Barb), Shaney (Trent), Amanda (Mario), Barret, Jessie, Jeremy and Ela, and great-grandchildren Kassidy, Jena and Jordan. He was predeceased by his parents Bartholomew and Eva, brothers Albert, Mike and Stanley and sisters Victoria and Stella. Walter was born, raised and lived his entire life in Highland Glen. He was a carpenter by trade and a farmer by choice. During his retirement years he enjoyed gardening, cribbage and a variety of sports. Prayers will be held on Thursday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Cooks Creek, MB. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 15 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church, with Fr. Martin Bradbury officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Church Building Fund in Cooks Creek.
