VERNA BORGHILD GOODS Suddenly on Friday, February 8, 2008 Verna passed away at her residence. Verna will be sadly missed by children, Bryan (Diana), Debbie (Floyd), Cheryl (Lorne); grandchildren, Jeff, Zachary, and Katie; stepgrandchildren, Josh and Amanda; partner Metro Gawiuk; sister Hilda Grimwood; nephew Donald Cooper; close friends, Marge and Eric and Leigh and Steve. Verna was born in Ashern, MB on February 11, 1936 and raised in Steep Rock, MB. She moved to Winnipeg at the age of 19 and joined the T. Eaton Co. She met and married Jack Goods and raised their children in various locations in Manitoba and Ontario. Mom will be missed for her skills on the sewing machine, in the kitchen, at the slot machines and was never far from a vacuum cleaner, bottle of Windex and a dust cloth. In her later years Verna and Metro developed a passion for travel and together they saw more parts of Canada and the USA than she had ever seen throughout her whole life. The family would like to thank the Fireman, Paramedics and St. Boniface Hospital for all their care, compassion and understanding during these most trying of times. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made in Verna's memory to the Alzheimer's Society or the Heart Stoke Foundation.
