P. BLAINE WILLIAMS Suddenly on Friday, February 8, 2008, at his residence, Blaine Williams, beloved husband of Joan Williams, passed away at the age of 65 years. Blaine was born on the family farm in the Salem District where he grew up and received his education. He began his working career with Newton Enterprises where he was employed for 18 years. For four years Blaine and Joan operated Blaine Williams Electrical and Plumbing in Oakville, before taking employment with the Bloom Fertilizer Distribution Depot. In 2000 he retired for health reasons. Blaine was happiest in the outdoors. When he wasn't tending to his garden or helping in the fields, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Perhaps his greatest pleasure came from helping others as he always lent a helping hand to those who needed it. Besides his wife Joan, who he married 46 years ago, Blaine is survived by three sons; Jody (Penny and grandchildren Ashley, Tyler and Samantha), Wendell, and Jim (Cindy and grandchildren Austin and Cody) and one daughter Valarie (Jim Burke and grandchildren Jeneise and Katie), brother Dallas (Florence), sister Pat Pilkington (Gordon) and brothers; Owen (Pat), Dwight (Carol) and Shawn, also numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents James and Doreen Williams and one sister Sheryl Botterill. Respectfully there will be no funeral or memorial service. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will follow at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Maple Grove Cemetery care of Pat Williams, Site 42, Comp #4, RR 3, Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3A3. Arrangements have been entrusted to: Ronald Moffit Memorial Services Portage la Prairie, Man.
