OTILIA PETTY (TILLIE) Passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2008, surrounded by her family at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tillie was in her 70th year. Loving wife of Frank. Mother to Karen (Tom), Frank (Debbie), and Sharon (Rob). Grandmother to Sophie, Noah and stepgrandson Neil. She is survived by brothers, Michael, John, Milan and sister Elsie. Tillie was a teacher with the Simcoe County Board of Education and taught at several schools in Barrie. Her last and longest term was at Hillcrest Public School. An avid golfer and gardener, she will be missed by her friends on the links and by many within the community. She was respected and admired by her peers and distinguished herself by her selflessness in order to bring others joy. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home (Clapperton and Worsley Streets), Barrie, from 10:00 a.m on Saturday, February 16, 2008, until the time of the funeral service in the chapel at 11:00. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nursing staff of Royal Victoria Hospital who treated Tillie with compassionate care.
