The family extends a special thank you to the staff of 5 2U for their compassionate care and concern of well being through a difficult time. Bill owned and operated Dominion Plumbing Limited for many years, retiring in 1987. He was a Second World War veteran stationed in Canada and then the Shetland Islands for the remainder of the war. In his youth he was a talented athlete playing hockey. Also he was an avid swimmer. After retirement he and his wife Dolly spent many years traveling south to Palm Springs where he continued playing tennis, swimming, and making many new friends. He became interested in practicing Tai Chi as another method to exercise his body and mind. He had an inquisitive mind and decided to try new things in later life, including learning Spanish. Up until recently he continued exercising at home and at the Gwen Secter Creative Living Centre. Bill will be sadly missed by family and friends, his wife Dolly of 59 years, his three sons Butch, Martin and Jeff (Cathy), grandchildren Rebecca, Jacob, Benjamin, Jonathan and Frannie, his two remaining cousins Irvine Farber of Chicago and Hilda Baker of Los Angeles, many nieces and nephews and very special friends of Edward Mah, Mary Pollard, Boris and Betty Znidaric and Emilio and Sophia Dumani. He was predeceased by his brothers Joe and Harry Itzkow. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Chesed Shel Emes, 1023 Main St., followed by burial at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery.
