Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICHOLAS BODNARCHUK It is with sorrow and celebration of his life that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Nicholas Bodnarchuk, on February 11, 2008. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his son Alan and Sandi, granddaughter Leanne, her husband Grant and great-granddaughter Alexandra Schmidt, and grandson Cory Bodnarchuk. He is also survived by his brothers, Roy (Helen) Budd and Ron (Marie) Budd, brothers-in-law, Stanley (Adele) Domanski, Walter (Verna) Domanski; sisters-in-law, Eileen Domanski, Julie Fain and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 2002, daughter Elizabeth in infancy, brothers, Steve, Mike and John. Dad was born on November 22, 1912 in Cooks Creek, Manitoba to Cornelius and Katherine Bodnarchuk. Mom and Dad were married on October 2, 1938. In 1943 they purchased the Tyndall Corner which later became the family business, Tyndall Garage. All of Dad's working years were spent together with his son Alan as owner/operator of the Tyndall Garage. When mom and dad finally retired, they spent a great deal of time at the cottage at Nutimik Lake and many winters in Brownsville, Texas. The highlight of their life, however was their family, especially their great-granddaughter Alex. When the twinning of Highway #44 took place in 1988 Mom and Dad moved to Beausejour. He was lovingly referred to as the energizer bunny because he endured triple bypass, pacemaker insertion, knee replacement and cataract surgery all in his 80s. Dad had a very strong faith and was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. After Mom's passing, Dad moved into Stony Plains and later East Gate Lodge where he passed away. Dad's years in these facilities were happy ones and he often referred to his caregivers as his Angels . We are so grateful to all of them for the wonderful care and compassion shown to our Dad. All of you are special people. Special thanks to Dr. Zeiler for his excellent long term care of Dad. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. from the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church, Beausejour, Manitoba with Fr. Walter Klimchuk officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations in his memory may be made to the East Gate Lodge. To the world he was one, to us he was the world RUSSELL'S of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements. Call 1-866-424-6271 toll free or 268-2263. CANADIAN INDEPENDENT since 1941.
