IRENE MARIE LEPAGE (nee MENARD) Peacefully with her family at her side, Irene LePage passed away at the Victoria General Hospital on February 13, 2008. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Rod in 1977 as well as six brothers and sisters. Irene will be lovingly remembered by her children; Rhonda LePage Bracken (Denis), Ila Schlegel (Wally), Frank (Barb) and Villah Lakusta; her grandchildren Richard, Simon and Elizabeth Bracken, Jeffrey and Kathryn LePage and Kevin and Chad Lakusta; sisters, Julie, Mona and Elena; and brothers Art and David. Irene was born on May 8, 1920 in Fisher Branch, MB. During Second World War Mom served her country as a WRENS stationed in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia. After the war, Irene moved back to Winnipeg where she met her husband Rod, and was married in 1950. They spent wonderful years on McKenzie Island, ON. Mom loved to knit, paint and play cards with family and friends. In keeping with Irene's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial mass celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church, the corner of Stafford and Corydon. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Irene can be made to Covenant House, 20 Gerrard St., PO Box 20026, stn BRM B, Toronto, ON, M7Y 3T6.
