Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOON PERSAD Born November 5, 1938 in Tunapuna, Trinidad and Tobago. Doon Persad passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 69 on Wednesday February 13, 2008. Remaining to forever cherish Doon's memory is his loving wife Miriam, children, Dean, Essante, and Vishnu. Doon will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters, J. Lalman, S. Narine, nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was predeceased by his mother G. Mewahlal, father and his brother L. Persad. Dad immigrated to Canada in 1966. Prior to moving to Canada he worked as an accountant in Trinidad and Tobago. When Dad arrived in Canada he studied at the University of Manitoba and then worked at Motor Coach Industries in Winnipeg, Manitoba for 28 years in a management capacity. Dad enjoyed playing cricket and represented the Province of Manitoba on several occasions and won numerous tournaments in The Manitoba All-Fours Association as captain of the team and won many tournaments as a devoted golfer. He was an avid reader and also had a flare for singing and could dance up a storm like Fred Astaire. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Boniface Hospital for their excellent care given to our Dad. A celebration of Doon's life will be held on Saturday February 16 at 10:00 a.m. at the Thomson in the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., Winnipeg, MB with Pastor Ed Grant and Pandit Mieser officiating.
