MARGARET WOOD GARRETT After a long and fulfilling life, Margaret Garrett passed away on January 25, 2008, at the de Salaberry Health Centre in St. Pierre Jolys, at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by her husband Norman in 1994, and is survived by one brother Matthew Stewart of Courtenay, BC. She will also be missed by many friends. Margaret was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, and came to Canada in 1946. Margaret and Norman lived almost all of their lives in Ste. Agathe where Norman operated Garrett's Garage until his retirement. Referring to Norman, Margaret said, He was the finest man in the world and my best friend. In earlier years, they camped on a regular basis and Margaret found solace in the quiet country places they visited. She loved to read and listen to all kinds of music, and cherished her best friends. A memorial service for Margaret will be held on Saturday, February 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ste. Agathe Cultural and Community Centre, Rev. Bob Stark officiating. A reception will follow the service, also at the centre. Interment of Margaret's cremated remains will take place in the Ste.
