LUC JOUBERT (1935 - 2008) We are saddened to announce that our beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend passed away peacefully with family by his side at St. Boniface General Hospital on Feruary 14, 2008. Luc is lovingly remembered by his brother Victor Joubert, his sister Claire Michalik (Edouard), his many nieces and nephews (grandnieces and grandnephews): Monique Delay (Chantale, Alain (Melissa)), Gabrielle and Roland Marion (Natalie, Valérie), Richard Joubert (Cindy), Michelle Joubert and Dean Goldstone (Peter, Kira, Zoe), Christian and Carole Michalik (Emilie, Camille), Alain Michalik and Joëlle Lavallée, Danielle Michalik (Sébastien, Emma), his cousins and friends. We would be remiss not to recognize his close relationship to his cousins: Aurise and Alphonse, and his friends Wayne and Maureen Fisher. Luc was predeceased by his father Ambroise, his mother Rose (née Hébert), his brother Luc, his sister Gabrielle, his sister-in-law Aline Joubert (née Sicotte), his brother Dr. Yves-Noël, sister-in-law Dr. Doreen (née Papageorgiou), and nephew Paul Joubert. Luc was born and raised in St. Pierre-Jolys, MB. He attended St. Boniface College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Latin Philosophy. He also attended the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal before graduating with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba. His studies served him well in his long and distinguished career with the provincial government, serving many years as a Financial Administrator in the Department of Natural Resources. In recognition of his contributions, he received a Federal-Provincial Parks Council Merit Award. Luc's favourite place to be was at the family cottage at Falcon Lake where he enjoyed our warm Manitoba summers with family and friends. Luc was very devoted to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by the many people he touched with his love and generosity. We wish to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. We are grateful to Dr. Edward St. Goddard and Father Lanoie, from Pastoral Care, for their kindness and support. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Eglise Précieux-Sang, 200 Kenny St., on Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. (prayers at 10:00 a.m.). I was one of the secretaries with CRA I believe or even before that and I believe Luc was the Admin officer. Truly a nicer man you could ever meet - actually all the guys there were so nice but Luc was always soft spoken and kind of shy and the guys that worked there too were fabulous = one of them, John I believe his name was always was buddies with Luc - but EVERYONE truly liked Luc so very much - he was actually kind of shy is my recollection, but truly the nicest person anyone could ever meet. Actually Luc's cousin Real Berard worked there also and he was fabulous - had his own little office tucked away from everyone else's and was very quiet but always so nice - don't remember what his job was as it's been such a long time but I know they were cousins. Sad to read of Luc's passing but couldn't pass this by without saying what a wonderful person he was when I knew him and worked not with him but I was a Secretary for that area - but Luc was nothing but a gentleman and very quiet really but him and a few of the guys had their own inside jokes going on and I also remember Real who was also very nice. Sorry to hear of Luc's passing but had to let people know what a wonderful man he was - my sincere condolences - a bit late I know but I just came across this notice very recently. - Posted by: Pat Fortescue (Worked for the Provincial Government - same office the same time Luc was there.) on: Jan 18, 2025
