Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEMMA CHEWINGS (nee DEGUELDRE) Passed away peacefully February 13, 2008, at Prairie View Lodge, Pilot Mound, at the age of 97. Emma was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1980; daughter Marlene in 1959; two sisters and two brothers. Emma is survived by her son David (Marion); grandchildren Darryl, Shelley (Pat), and Tara; great-grandchildren Hayley and Kailtlyn; sister- in-law Aline Degueldre; many nieces and nephews. Emma was born July 29, 1910, in Bruxelles, Manitoba, where she lived until 1926. Her family moved to Cypress River where she met and married Jack Chewings in 1937. They lived in Cypress River, Stephenfield and in 1941 moved to Clearwater. Emma was a very active person. She loved to dance, enjoyed curling, going to bingo, fishing, camping and traveling. In January 2002, Emma moved to Prairie View Lodge. The family would like to thank the staff for their care and devotion to her the past six years. A private family graveside service will be held at Clearwater Cemetery, Monday, February 18 followed by an open luncheon for family and friends in Clearwater Hall at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prairie View Lodge, Pilot Mound, MB R0G 1P0, or St. Paul's Anglican Church, Box 8, Clearwater, MB R0K 0M0.
