HELEN MACLEOD BINGHAM Peacefully on January 28, 2008, our dear mother and grandmother passed away at Prairie View Lodge, in Pilot Mound, MB. Helen was born to James and Elva Coltart on January 30, 1912, in Carberry, MB. She is survived by her only son Ross (Joanne), her two grandchildren, Chris and Lisa, and a large number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and three sisters, Elsie, Ruth, and Jean, and in 1996 by her husband and best friend, Hugh. Mom and Dad were happily married for 54 years. Helen's roots were very important to her and her family meant everything to her. She was particularly proud of her grandchildren who were as devoted to her as she was to them. She was blessed with a warm and loving heart that knew no bounds. She had a love for music and flowers that she enjoyed sharing with her husband. She was admired by many for her strong Christian faith, her strength of character and her commitment to her family, her church, and her community. She took part in the church choir from 1925 to 1996 and was an active member of the UCW until she was 91. Helen's strong Christian faith remained constant to the end. Helen and her family were always grateful for the care she received while a resident of Prairie View Lodge. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to all the staff at Prairie View Lodge for the compassionate care and comfort they provided to mom. We especially want to thank Bonnie Robbins for the time, care, and compassion she provided mom in her final days. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Pilot Mound United Church, Pilot Mound, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pilot Mound United Church, R0G 1P0, Prairie View Lodge, or the Christian Children's Fund, 1200 Denison Street, Markham, Ontario L3R 8G6.
