JOHN WALTER JACK REID April 26, 1928 - February 5, 2008 Peacefully, on February 5, 2008 Jack passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 79. Jack was predeceased by his parents, Goldwyn and Ethel Reid; and his sister Ellen. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years Eleanor; brother Bill of Point Claire, PQ. Jack will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jack was born in Arcola, SK, and moved to Winnipeg, attending high school at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. He worked at Winnipeg School Division #1 as a custodian for many years until his retirement in 1990. Jack was a longtime member of St. Barnabas Anglican Church where he was in the choir and served on the vestry. He enjoyed fishing, especially at Duck Mountain with his wife Eleanor and old dog Captain. A memorial service will be held at St. Barnabas Anglican, 730 McPhillips St., on Saturday, February 16 at 1:30 pm, with a reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's name may be made to St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 730 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, MB, R2X 2H8 or CancerCare Manitoba ON1160-675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 0V9.
