MARY ELLEN BAWDEN (CROWLEY) Mary Ellen passed away peacefully the afternoon of February 11, 2008, with her ever-loving husband of 58 years, Bill, holding her hand. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter Francis Crowley and Mabel Duchess Crowley (Teed). She leaves to cherish her memory: Bill, two sons, Geoffrey (Beth), and Michael (April); three grandsons, William, Christopher and Sean; brothers, Peter (Eileen) and Paul (Maureen); sister Margaret; sister-in-law Joyce and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She and her brave heart fought to the end. Mary Ellen loved music, Swing was her favourite, she loved to dance, she bowled well and played at golf with Bill. They honeymooned by train to New Orleans for the Mardi Gras, then to Georgia to spend time on her aunt and uncle Cook's plantation, then to New York to see some shows. She and Bill travelled to New York and Ontario, as well as across much of North America, many times by car with the boys in the back seat. After retirement she and Bill, while she was able, spent winters in Chapala, Mexico, as well as Mesa and Florence, Arizona. M.E. volunteered at the Manitoba Museum teaching many schoolchildren. She worked at the Royal Bank and lastly at Canadian Pacific Airlines. She cooked a mean roast beef with Yorkshire pudding dinner. She fiercely defended being of Irish descent but Bill teased her for it. She will be missed terribly. At her request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
