Date of Passing: Feb 14, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILFRED LAWRENCE (LAURIE) MASON Suddenly on Thursday, February 14, 2008 Laurie Mason of Winnipeg and formerly of Rathwell, MB, died at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 70 years. Remaining to forever cherish Laurie's memory are his three nephews and their families, Wayne and Jeanne Gibson (Ivan and Todd), David and Brenda Gibson (Carl and Shawn) and Ken and Laurie Gibson (Erin and Lauren). He was predeceased by his Dad and Mom, Gilbert and Rose Mason; his only Sister and Brother-in-law Audrey and Victor Gibson. Laurie grew up in Rathwell, Manitoba and permanently moved to Winnipeg when his Father passed away. Early days found Laurie moving to Winnipeg for the winter to watch his Nephews play hockey. He was probably more like a brother to us than an Uncle because of all the time we spent together. His later years were spent with his Community Venture Family who truly cared for his happiness and well-being. To you we are forever grateful. The last year he resided at Parkview Place PCH. Thank-you for the personal care you provided to Laurie. On Thursday, February 21, Laurie's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Salvation Army Weetamah Corps/Community Venture, 324 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg. There will be a private family burial at a future date. As an expression of sympathy, friends may make memoriams to the Salvation Army Community Venture Program, 324 Logan Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3A 0L5.
