EDWARD ALEXANDER LOGAN July 25, 1920 - February 17, 2008 Peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2008, with family by his side Alex passed away at Concordia Hospital. Predeceased by his brothers Robert Wesley and David Albert. He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Shirley Logan, nephews and nieces Michael (Kathy), Douglas (Wendy), Tim (Elaine), Gordon, Cheryl (Lorne), Lisa (Gerald), Darryll, Barry (Jean) and many great-nephews and nieces. Alex was born to George Wesley Logan and Sadie Wilson at Winnipeg, Manitoba; he grew up in Elmwood and attended Lord Selkirk and St. John's Tech. He served overseas in Britain and North Africa for the RCAF from 1940 to 1945. He was an Armorer and discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Alex worked for the Canadian National Railway as a switchman from 1945 until 1985. During that time he remained an active member of the Air Force Assoc. of Canada and made it his responsibility to keep the grass trimmed at the Garden of Memories. He also purchased plaques for those he thought should be honored at the Garden. Alex supported many aircraft museums throughout Canada and he was a member of the Winnipeg Radio Control Club, and a Model Aircraft builder of free flight, control line and radio control model aircraft. One of Alex's many passions was the delivering of Christmas Cheer Board Hampers, which he did every year until the age of 85 - he felt that this was Christmas.
