EDITH BLANK (nee RADINOVSKY) Passed away peacefully on December 1, 2007, after a prolonged illness. She was predeceased by Oscar Blank, her loving husband of 61 years. She is survived and missed by her three sons, Martin and wife Lana Belza, Arthur and wife Patti Cohen and Myles and wife Tricia Wallace as well as her grandsons, Dov, Zev and Lev, and her sister Rozzie and brother-in-law Frank Reinhard. She was predeceased by her sister Ruthie Smallberg and brother Syd Radinovsky. Our mother was an Eyshet Chayil, a woman who dedicated her life to her family. Our memories are filled with the sights, smells, sounds and comforts provided through her homemaking, her piano playing and the sweetness she brought to family gatherings, big and small. She is remembered for the sparkle in her eye and the many ways she tried to bring joy to others. She quietly encouraged us, without pressure, to first and foremost, be good and kind people - the rest would fall into place. Mom was active in the charitable Hadassah-Wizo Women's group as well as the Jewish Women's Musical group in Winnipeg. To this day, her marriage to our Dad is described as a love match - a true love at first sight, and has been an inspiration to us all. Her legacy is love, even as we grieve her long illness and her passing. Our family warmly thanks our many friends and extended family for the support, wonderful meals, and generous donations in our Mother's name. We are especially thankful to Linda Harsant and Flora Alquiza, for the compassionate and outstanding care they provided over so many years. We also thank Jenny Thompson and the the many other caring people involved in her care over the past 25 years. We wish to express our gratitude to the staff of the Sharon Home and Dr. Sheldon Koven. It takes courage to be gentle and kind. Morrissey

  • Dear Martin, Arthur, Myles and families. It's amazing how strong the memories are of growing up next door to you on Perth Avenue. I too clearly remember the sights, smells (cinnamon buns) and sounds of your home. I remember your mother as a warm, kind and gentle woman. Allan and and I send our condolences.
