DOMENICO COSTANTINI March 30, 1906 - February 21, 2008 Domenico Costantini was born in Colledara Abbruzzo, Italy. He moved to Winnipeg in 2003. He passed away peacefully at the age of 101, surrounded by his family at Victoria Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Giuseppina, son and daughter-in-law, Vincenzo and Adele Costantini, daughter Francesca and son-in-law Giancarlo. Domenico will be sadly missed by daughter Anna, son Mario (Assunta), and son-in-law Quintino. Grandchildren, Pina (Gennaro) Esposito, Stefania, Sandra (Diego) Andreato, Domenico and Raffaele, Domenico (Sabrina) Costantini, Laura (Richard) Mandarano, Marco (Jennifer) Costantini. His great-grandchildren: Vince, Fernando, Matteo, Gala, Giulia, Mario, Angelo and Alexia. Nephews and nieces: Rick (Franca), Angelo (Clara) and their families in Winnipeg, as well many more relatives in Italy. Domenico had a zest for life. Even in his 90s he was still climbing trees in Italy and at 100 years old he was shoveling snow in Winnipeg. Domenico lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He brought joy and laughter to the lives of everyone he knew. He enjoyed playing cards, singing, drinking wine and eating a nice plate of pasta with hot chilies. He loved to sit by the front window and get everybody's attention with a smile and a salute. We were so blessed to have spent the last four years with him here in Winnipeg. The memories will remain in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank Dr. Salem and the staff at the Victoria Hospital for their extra care and kindness. Thank you to all of our family and friends for their generous love and support through this difficult time. Prayers will be said on Thursday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Avenue. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary with Fr. Sam Argenziano. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be Domenico Costantini, Marco Costantini, Fernando Esposito, Vince Esposito, Richard Mandarano, David Costantini, Enzo Costantini, Mike Costantini. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation.
