Date of Passing: Feb 21, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIAN ALBERT NISELY Suddenly, at home, after a lengthy illness on February 21, 2008, at the age of 64 years, of Greenridge, Manitoba. Ian will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his mother Winnifred, sister Hazel (husband Aime Carriere), nephew Gerald Carriere, niece Laurel (husband Jules Freis), and great-nephews, Dale, Cory, Dylan and Harley, as well as many members of his extended family and many friends. Ian was predeceased by his father George Nisely in 1971. Ian was born on March 28, 1943, to George and Winnie Nisely, in Morris, MB. Ian spent his entire life on the farm in Greenridge. He attended school in Greenridge as well, and worked at the workshops in Altona and St. Malo. Ian enjoyed attending the Manitoba Wildlife Federation meetings, and was an active spectator for numerous community events. He held a special fondness for hockey, trains and old time fiddle music. Despite his many challenges, Ian was always eager to go somewhere new and see everything. The family is grateful to the kind and generous care given to Ian throughout the years by the physicians and staff of St. Pierre Hospital. We would also like to thank the home care workers for their support over the past few years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Research Foundation or Greenridge Cemetery Fund. A service to celebrate Ian's life will be held Monday, February 25, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Greenridge United Church, with burial to follow in the Greenridge Community Cemetery. Pallbearers: Gerald Carriere, Jules Freis, Dale Driedger, Cory Driedger, Dylan Driedger, and Ken Driedger. Arrangements by Birchwood Funeral Chapel 1-204-346-1030 or 1-888-454-1030
