Born: May 07, 1914
Date of Passing: Feb 20, 2008
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLAIRE ANDRE Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, Mrs. Claire Andre slipped into eternal rest on February 20, 2008, at the Villa Youville in Ste-Anne. Claire was born May 7, 1914, in St. Boniface to Alexis and Clara Pinvidic. She moved to Makinak, Manitoba, with her family where she met and married George Andre. They had three children. Her home was always filled with the aroma of something wonderful baking in the oven. We all enjoyed her homemade breads, baking, jams and pickles. She took pleasure in crocheting, knitting and sewing. She had a wonderful vegetable garden as well as a flower garden. She took delight in watching wildlife as well. She had a bird feeder outside her kitchen window and she knew all the types of birds that came to feed. Like the birds she took time to watch in wonder, she loved to sing. Even in the depth of her illness, she could always be heard singing. She was a gentle spirit who listened to anyone who needed an ear. She is survived by her children Roger (Aurise), Monique Folkins and Paul. Her sisters-in-law Claire and Margaret, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren will also miss her. She was predeceased by her husband George, brothers Leon, Henri, Emile, sisters-in-law Rose and Henriette. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ste-Anne Roman Catholic Church in Ste-Anne, MB, with Father Rene Chartier officiating. If friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to Ste-Anne-Des-Chenes Church Renovation fund or a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Villa Youville for all the care you provided our mother and grandmother. We would like to express a special thanks to Sr. Irene Rioux and Sr. Margaret Forest for all your care and compassion throughout the years up to and including Claire's final days.
