Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBARRY ALLAN MULDER Barry's fight with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma came to an end peacefully on February 23, 2008. His strong spirit and will to live sustained him over the last 10 years. Barry was born on January 3, 1960 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 25 years, Sandy; their three wonderful children, Nicole, Kyle and Crystal; his father Dick Mulder; brother Don (Jan), Derek and David; sister Brenda (Barry) Rosney, Christopher and Amanda: father and mother-in-law Ben and Bobbie Small; brothers-in-law Rob (Susan), Chris, Jon, Robbie: Jeff (Colleen), Robyn, Brett, Blake, Paige; Michael (Dulce), Sydney and Riley. Numerous aunties, uncles, and cousins survive him. His mother Val predeceased him in 1999. Barry grew up in East St. Paul. As a young boy he enjoyed community club hockey, playing shinny on the front yard hockey rink, golfing and family time at the cottage at Falcon Lake. In 1982 Barry received his B.Sc. (Elect. Eng.) from the U of M. Following in the footsteps of his father, Barry spent many years running the family business, Mulder Construction, bringing in new direction and diversity. During his term as President of the Manitoba Heavy Construction Association his leadership abilities shone. He and Sandy met many new friends and acquaintances. Barry was proud of his involvement in the Asessippi Ski Area. The real joy in Barry's life was his family. He was a very devoted father. Barry and Sandy loved watching their children participate and succeed in their individual sports. They were there for them each step of the way. The family cottage, Clearwater Bay, provided a place of refuge from the busy sports schedule and gave them time to bond as a family. Barry did not allow his diagnosis of cancer to consume his life. Determined to keep his fight private he and Sandy worked hard at keeping life as normal as possible. Knowing his time was limited they took many family vacations. The kids will never forget the surprise family camping trip. This attitude ensured that he left his family with many memories and no regrets. A special thanks goes to Dr. Rubinger and the CancerCare clinical nurses for all of their care over the last 10 years. During the last months, GD6 was Barry's home away from home. The entire family sends a special thanks to the nurses and staff who cared for Barry during the time of his bone marrow transplant, especially for all those warm blankets . Through their efforts, the family was able to remain close to him during his final days giving them many memories that will sustain them. The family invites you to join them in a celebration of Barry's life on Tuesday, February 26, at 11:30 a.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, 1315 Gateway Road. A private family interment will follow. Thank you Barry for sharing your life with us. We will love you forever.
