PETER PAUL BARTESKI 1943 - 2008 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Peter. Peacefully, following a courageous battle with cancer, Peter passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Remaining to cherish his memory are his wife Donna, daughter Melanie, brother John (Rose) of Winnipeg, sisters Vivian of Raymond, Alberta, and Joanne of Toronto, Ontario, as well as nephew Todd, Donna (Randy) and Shelley (Trevor) of Palm Springs, CA, mother-in-law Caroline Matthews and brother-in-law Kevin Matthews, both of Winnipeg. Peter was predeceased by his mother Kay in 1973 and father Paul in 1998. Peter was born in Okla, Saskatchewan, on June 30, 1943, and moved with his family to Winnipeg. He worked in the building trades as a steamfitter and also was employed at the CNR retiring in 1995. He very much enjoyed working with his hands by gardening, working on cars and there wasn't anything that he couldn't build, fix or repair around the house. Peter found the most accomplishment and satisfaction in sharing with others the Bible's hope of an earthly paradise and found great comfort from the promise of a resurrection on earth when there will be no more pain, sorrow or death. The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff on the 8th floor, St. Boniface Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, for all their care and compassion shown Peter during his final days. It was much appreciated. A Memorial Service for Peter will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 937 Gateway Rd., on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m. with Brian Yablonski officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface Hospital. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
