Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALVIN TORVALD PETERSON February 3, 1921 - February 24, 2008 Peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2008 Alvin Peterson passed away at the age of 87 at the Meadowood Manor. Al will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy; daughter Carol (Harvey); son Ed; granddaughter Susan (Ralph); grandson Brad (Julie); three great-grandchildren; four brothers; and one sister. He is predeceased by his son Peter; and his brother Gothard. Al was born in Teulon, Manitoba. He was a Leading Air Craftsman for the Canadian Air Force and served in the Second World War. He was stationed in England where he met his wife Dorothy. They were married in 1945 and moved to Winnipeg shortly thereafter, where they had three children. Al enjoyed his work as a diesel mechanic with Brown and Murray and later became a partner in the business. He had many different interests, some of which included curling, photography, camping, gardening, the weekly Jumble, fixing everything, and spending time with his family. He was actively involved in the Reserve Air Force. By the grace of God, Al accepted the salvation of Christ shortly before he passed away! The family would like to thank the staff at the Meadowood Manor for their care. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at the East Kildonan Baptist Church, 700 Watt Street at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
