WILLIAM (BILL) LeROY COBLE 1943 - 2008 It is with sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Bill on February 13, 2008 while vacationing in Mazatlan, Mexico. Left to mourn him are his children Colleen (Steve) Skavinsky, Nedra Kristine (Gary) McGhee, and Michael Coble by his first wife, Jacqueline McDonald, as well his second wife, Joan Franks, with her family. His grandchildren Jamie, Zach, Malachi, and Micah will miss him dearly. He is survived by his siblings, Lorraine (Ed) Heckert, Jim (Donna) Coble, Barbara (Rick) Hill, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces. He is predeceased by his father, Virgil (Mutt) Coble and his mother, Yvonne Taylor. Bill was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan on May 21, 1943. His family eventually settled in Niakwa Park in Winnipeg. He spent several years in the militia arm of the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. While attending university, Bill held several interesting jobs, including waiter on the CN passenger trains and as an insurance salesman. He received his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Winnipeg in 1966 and earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Manitoba in 1974. Throughout his career, he was employed with the Crippled Children's Society, the Children's Aid Society, and City of Winnipeg Social Services. He was also the proud author of The Addictions Primer. After retiring from the City of Winnipeg in 2004, he continued his avocation with private Christian counselling. Bill was a very spiritual person and was actively involved with the Keystone United Pentecostal Church. Bill spent his summers with his lovely friends at Winnipeg Beach and found time to travel to distant destinations throughout the rest of the year. A memorial service, officiated by Pastor Doug Birdwell, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 29 at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment and reception to follow.
