GEORGE EDWARD MONKMAN Beloved husband to Nettie (Enns), father to George Jr., Gary (Arlene), Shirley (Bill), Gloria (Charlie), Theresa, Diana (Leonard), Lynda, Michael, and Eric (Cheryl); grandfather to 21 grandchildren, and great-grandfather to 19 great-grandchildren. He is survived by one brother Edwin Monkman. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Orise Monkman and three siblings. George was born January 23, 1930, and passed away peacefully February 25, 2008 at the Ste. Anne Hospital. George spent many years delivering coal for Northern Coal and then driving for Building Products. George was an honorary elder for the Metis Federation of Manitoba and served in the Canadian Reserve Army. He enjoyed a rich full life spending time with his family and friends. He will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, MB.
