Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH NEIL FRENCH Suddenly, at his home in Dominion City, on February 27, 2008, Ken passed away at the age of 79. Ken will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Kim (Sharon), Pat (Lorri), Maxine, Sherri (Kaol Sigurdson), and Blair (Michelle); grandchildren, Kelcey (Julie), Kaylyn (Ryan), Shawn (Tracey), Jeff (Jaime), Darla (Mike), Tyler, Blake, and Rayna; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Logan, Taylor, and Mason. He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Jean, Bernice (Matthew), Joan (Keith), and Gwen (Bryan); numerous nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law. Ken was predeceased by his parents Eva and James; first wife Madeline, in 1989; second wife Merle, in 1994; brothers, Wallace (Buddy), Vaughn (Duke), and Thomas; sisters, Dorothy and Norma; granddaughter Adrienne; great-granddaughter, Jenna. Ken was born and raised in Dominion City. He ran his own business, French's Trucking, until his retirement in 1989. Ken was instrumental in forming the Dominion City Volunteer Fire Department where he proudly served his community for 45 years. He was actively involved for many years with the Dominion City Community Club. He was also a long standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 160 and the Dominion City Curling Club where he was a lifetime member. In his younger years, Ken was an avid hunter. More recently, he could often be seen cruising the countryside observing nature. He also spent many hours bird watching in his yard. Ken's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the centre of his life. He had a special place in his heart for all his grandchildren, but most recently for his two year old granddaughter, Rayna Madeline, who was the apple of his eye. Ken always looked forward to special occasions where he could spend time with his family. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2008, at the Dominion City United Church at 2:00 p.m. Interment to be decided at a later date. Donations may be made in Ken's memory to Dominion City United Church Memorial Fund.
