Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY MALINDA HANSON Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Dorothy Malinda Hanson (nee Aikens) passed away. She was born in Lavenham, Manitoba, to Ernest and Margaret Aikens (nee Stalker). She had one sister, Margaret. In 1944, while volunteering at the Deer Lodge Hospital she met Lloyd while he convalesced from wounds he received in the Second World War. They married on August 17, 1946. She worked at the North YMCA and then Universal Signs for several years. Once they retired in 1978 they took their little trailer and ran for the lakes and rivers. They would leave for British Columbia in April and fish their way back to Manitoba by October. Life was good. When Dad passed away Mom's life changed, but she went on caring, smiling and she loved. She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life four children, Linda Carol Margaret Hanson (Conrad Preisler), Lois Eileen Moss (George), Marni Elizabeth Hanson and Lloyd Ernest Hanson, her nephew Blair (Shawna) Mattison, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loving relatives. Predeceased by her devoted husband of 49 years, Lloyd Alvin Hanson, sister Margaret Elizabeth Mattison (nee Aikens). Heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
