Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRAYMOND (RAY) MYRON CHORNOPYSKI September 23, 1951 February 25, 2008 After a lengthy illness, Ray passed away quietly at the Grace General Hospital on Monday, February 25, 2008 at the age of 56 years. Ray had suffered with Congestive Heart Disease and then Lupus as well as developing some stomach and lung issues over the past couple of years that took its toll on his health. Remaining to forever cherish Ray's memory are his devoted mother, Helen; sisters, Bernice and Lisa; son, Christopher (Tracy); niece, Celina (Byron); nephew, Kyle; as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He maintained life long friendships and played cards and went bowling with Mike, Randy, Ed, Bob and Matt. He was predeceased by his father, Nicholas. Ray attended King Edward, Isaac Newton and Tec Voc schools. He loved music. Ray started playing the accordion when he was a child and then moved to drums in his teen years. He played as a drummer in local bands for a number of years in his 20's and 30's. Ray's passion was fishing and he spent as much time as he could with a fishing rod in the water. He loved vintage and sport cards and building car model kits. During his working career Ray was employed at such places as U of M Print Shop, Buchanan Printers and up until his failing health made him stop working, he worked at Kromar Printing. Ray loved his job there and always spoke highly of the owners and staff at Kromar. Ray's funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3 at 10:30 a.m. in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Avenue (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish additional parking will be available in the Seventh Day Adventist Church Parking lot located on Ness Avenue. A thank you is extended from the family to doctors, nurses and aides at Health Sciences Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, St. Boniface Hospital and Grace Hospital for their care while Ray was a patient there. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Kromar Printing who treated Ray like family and have been very supportive to Ray and his Mother during the course of his illness. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Ray's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6.
