ANNA MARIE BARTA (nee KOBZOS) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Anna on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 92 years. Anna is now reunited with her beloved husband, Steve, who predeceased her on July 11, 1993 while they were vacationing in Hungary. Remaining to forever cherish Aunt Ann's memory are her nephews and nieces and their families both in Canada and Hungary. Anna is also survived by brother Robert T. Kobzos and sister Mary Smith. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph; sister Josephine; and infant sister Elizabeth. Anna was born and raised in Woodridge, Manitoba where she fell in love with Steve and married him on September 28, 1939. They were devoted to each other for many happy years, worked together, debated and traveled the world. After farming in Woodridge, Anna and Steve moved to Winnipeg where she was employed by Swifts for over 30 years. Anna was recognized by her co-workers as one of the most loyal and productive employees, as well as one with a wonderful sense of humour. She also received an award from management in recognition of her dedication and strong work ethic. Aunt Ann was fondly referred to by her nephew Allan, as the best d--- chicken plucker ever. Aunt Ann was a wonderful cook and loved to share her Hungarian delights with others. Thankfully we have many of her best recipes and will think of her often as we prepare and enjoy them. In compliance with Anna's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Her ashes will be interred in Hungary beside those of her best friend, her late husband Steve. Special thanks to Sandra Campbell, her private nurse and to Constance Mitchell, her personal attendant, for their care and compassion.
