Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN OPPENEER October 18, 1929 February 27, 2008 On Wednesday, February 27, 2008, with his family by his side, the Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, peacefully took John to His Heavenly Home. John will be sadly missed by his loving family: beloved husband for 50 years to Dorothy (Dit); father to John (Heather, Michael, Jennifer, Katie and Jonathan), Harry (Kim, Sandi and Chris), and Lisa (Doug, Matthew and Ashley). He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers in The Netherlands. He is survived by a sister Catrien of Canada and a brother and sister in The Netherlands. John was born in Axel, The Netherlands, coming to Canada in 1952. He worked for Winnipeg Photo for 34 years. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 3, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2528 King Edward St., the Rev. Jan Pastucha officiating. Viewing will take place one half hour prior to the service. John's pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris Oppeneer and Matthew La Rosa; brothers-in-law, John De Vries and Paul Van Boven; son-in-law, Doug Leis and nephew, Harry De Putter. Flowers are gratefully declined.
