EMILY MARIA BENNETT (nee OLSON) Peacefully on February 27, 2008, Emily passed away at Tuxedo Villa at the age of 89. Born in Spy Hill Saskatchewan in July 1918, she spent several years in the Spy Hill and Marchwell area. In 1952 she moved to Winnipeg with her husband Bill. Family and friends were the most important things in Emily's life. As a teacher, she made many friends and influenced several lives. Curling, art work, bowling, and travel provided lots of opportunities to make new friends and keep up with old ones. Will miss her sense of fun, willingness to go on new adventures, skill at cards and other games, and genuine interest in sharing our lives. Emily is survived by her daughters, Sonia (Ron) Tibbatts and Carol (Dave) Borne; her son Robert; grandchildren, Janelle and Briana. She will be missed by her brothers, Alex (Carol) Olson and Raymond (Myrna) Olson; sisters, Thelma (Geoffrey) Wasteneys and Myrna (Ted) Fraser as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In 1996 Emily was predeceased by her husband Bill. The family extends its gratitude to Tuxedo Villa for their compassionate care of Emily. A memorial service will be held at Kirkfield Park United Church on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue.
