After a short battle with cancer, Dorothy passed away at the Morris Hospital on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at the age of 81. Dorothy is survived by her son, Robert and his wife Rose and three grandchildren, Brendan, Briana and Caitlyn. She also leaves behind her brothers, Emil, and Roy (Hilda) and sisters, Hilda, and Ella (Joe). Dorothy is predeceased by her husband Howard (1986) and her special companion, Albert Steinert (2000) , her parents John and Paulina (Flagel) Florkosky, brothers Ed and Archie, sisters Lillian (Empson) and Helen (Johnston). Dorothy was born in West Lynne (Emerson) the second youngest of nine children and resided in Emerson most of her life. She married Howard on February 20, 1947. She worked at the local grocery store for many years. They adopted their only child in 1958. Dorothy liked to travel especially to see family in California, North Carolina and Alberta. She really enjoyed her trip to Alaska with Albert. She liked to curl, play cards, do jigsaw puzzles, make doilies, attend church, go to movies and visit with people. But the things she liked most was a good strawberry shake and watching curling on TV.
