Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICKIE LORRAINE BUDD 1923 - 2008 On March 4 2008, at the age of 84 years, Mom passed away. Predeceased by her beloved Arthur in 1968. Mom leaves behind to honour her memory her daughters and sons-in-law Pat and Bob Ferguson, Vicki and Sid Frankel, her grandsons, Scott (Stacey) and Jason Ferguson, with whom she shared a special relationship throughout their lives, Marise (Darren) and Gabriel Frankel who shared many hours with their grandma since her return to Winnipeg several years ago. She was thrilled with the births of her great-grandchildren, Jordyn Ferguson, and Jesse and Colton Ferguson. Mom loved her nephews and their spouses, Art and Val Budd, Doug and Norine Budd, and their families. She leaves behind her lifelong friend, Kathleen Murray (Kelso), her cousin and dearest friend Lillian Scott and her family, and her cousin Judy (Doug McKay) who was a faithful visitor. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Dennis J. Harrison in 1975; Arthur's brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Marjorie Budd; and his cousins Bill and Eva Rudd. Mom was the light of our Dad's life as he was of her life. Following his death she devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She volunteered in the community and loved to travel, including taking her two eldest grandsons to Europe. In spite of the many challenges that she faced in her life, Mom was always full of fun. She remained cheerful, full of spirit, optimistic, and smiled at us even in her final days. Mom and Dad always cared deeply about other people and in their own quiet way gave generously of their time and personal resources. In her last few years she was lovingly cared for by Wendy, Claudette, and Penny. The family also would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff of the SNU at Golden Links Lodge where Mom resided in her last few months. Funeral service at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 830 North Drive and Point Road, Saturday, March 8, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Thomson in the Park cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Reception to follow at St. Paul's Church. Donations in memory of Vickie can be made to the Manitoba Camping Association Sunshine Fund in care of the Winnipeg Foundation, 1350-One Lombard Place, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X3 (944-9474). The Sunshine Fund was a favorite charity of Mom's from which she benefited during her own childhood.
