MARY PHYLLIS ADAIR (nee AIMOLA) We are saddened to announce that on Monday, March 3, 2008 Mary Adair passed away peacefully at Oakview Place at age of 100 years. She is survived by her husband Bill, her daughters, Patricia (Paul) Korn, Leann (Ron) Smith, grandchildren, Dean Korn (Jackie), Robin Smith (Andrea), and Veronica Smith (Brian), great-grandchildren, Virginia, Jessica, and Monique. She also leaves to mourn her sister Vera D'Andrea. Mum was born April 14, 1907 in Peterborough, ON to Thomas and Anna Aimola. She was the second youngest of four girls. Mum moved with her family to Toronto when she was 16. She married Bill Adair on September 14, 1935 and they celebrated their 72nd anniversary in September, 2007. Mum enjoyed talking with people even in elevators. By the time you reached your floor Mum would have learned all about you. Her delicious homemade pies were always welcome at family get-togethers. Over the years, knitting slippers, keeping track of the lives of movie and soap opera stars, doing crosswords, jumbles and playing scrabble were her favourite activities. Her faith was important to Mum and she wore out a number of rosaries through the years. The family would like to thank the staff Oakview Place for their care and compassion. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf Roman Catholic Church, 1707 John Brebeuf Place, with innichement taking place in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary's name to Villa Rosa Inc., 784 Wolseley Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3G 1C6 or to a charity of your choice. Rest in peace, till we meet again.
