WILLIAM (BILL) ARTHUR HARDING December 11, 1951 - March 3, 2008 At Victoria General Hospital on Monday, March 3, 2008 William (Bill) Arthur Harding passed away in his 57th year, much loved son of the late Kathleen (Kay) Marguerite (Riley) (2007) and of the late Arthur Byde Harding (2002). Bill was the caring brother of Lynda Anne Harding of Winnipeg; his twin, the late Robert John Harding (1952); and Gerald (Jerry) Franklin Harding of Las Vegas, NV. Proud uncle to Jerry's daughters, Jade and Jasmine. Bill will be missed by his roommates Richard and Larry; his special staff Monica and the rest of his team at his home. As well, Bill will be remembered by his relatives in the extended family of Hardings; by his cousin Joanne and the Sutherland family; and by the many friends he acquired wherever he went by touching their lives with his engaging smile, politeness and caring ways. Born in Winnipeg, Bill was raised in the family home in St. James, living there until he moved to Pulford in 2000. Bill was a diligent worker at Versatech until his retirement. Through his life Bill loved to bowl for Special Olympics where he won many medals and trophies which he proudly displayed. As well, Bill enjoyed the Saturday night dances at the Rockwood Legion where he touched the hearts of the Legion members. Bill was always a thoughtful, caring, polite person, and as his mother often described him - a happy fellow. In so many ways Bill was a role model to his family and friends. Bill enjoyed many automobile trips with his family across Canada, the U.S.A. and camping locally. In his years at his home he travelled to Disney World, Graceland, Las Vegas, and Toronto to visit his cousin. Always a fan of Elvis, Bill really thought the Graceland trip was a dream fulfilled. The family would like to thank all at Victoria General Hospital on fifth floor South who have cared with professionalism and kindness for Bill, his family, and Bill's staff during his recent illness. Bill has very much enjoyed his remaining years living at Pulford where he has received incredible loving care and friendship for which his family will always be grateful. Bill would want each of the staff to be thanked and receive a hug. Bill was always a true gentleman. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Bill's memory to Pulford Community Living Services, Unit 24 - 62 Scurfield Blvd., Winnipeg, MB, R3Y 1M5.
