Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN (STEVE) WERSTIUK It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear DAD, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Stephen Werstiuk, who passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008. Steve was born August 6, 1923, at Poplar Field, Manitoba. Steve's memory will be cherished by his best friend, Ann. He also will be lovingly missed and remembered by his daughter Sharon and son-in-law Joe Morrow, daughter Irene, son Allen and best friend Leigh, and daughter Diane and son-in-law Mitch Wasylnuk, seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his brothers, Peter, Walter and John, sister Elizabeth Vance and numerous nieces and nephews. Steve was predeceased by his mother Ann, father Alex, and sister Mary Boychuk. Steve had worked for C.N.R in Fort Rouge, then Transcona Symington yards as a Carman. He retired in 1986 after 35 years of service. Steve loved to work on numerous projects and was well known for his craftsmanship of lovely birdhouses and Christmas light globes. He could always be seen running around to various sales in the city. Steve, also being a bricklayer by trade, created numerous monuments around town. He could strike up conversations with anyone and will be remembered for his great sense of humour. Special thanks to the staff at Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion during Steve's illness. In accordance with Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
