EUSTAQUIO MERCADO URRUTIA Peacefully, on Monday, March 3, 2008, with family by his side, our Dad passed away at Maples Personal Care Home at the age of 95 years. Eustaquio Urrutia was born on March 29, 1912, in Bulacan Philippines. He along with his late wife Dominga immigrated to Canada in 1977 where they could be closer to their family. He was predeceased by his parents, Juan and Escolastica and two brothers. He will be lovingly remembered by his 11 children: Laddy (Mary) Urrutia, Cresing (Eddie-deceased) Benavidez, Beth (Maurie-deceased) Gulapa, Mario (Norma) Urrutia, Zeny (Tony -deceased) Magno, Romy (Hermie) Urrutia, Jesse (Ila) Urrutia, Rey (Linda) Urrutia, Eddie (Loida) Urrutia, Lita (Robert) Trinidad, Willie (Nica) Urrutia; 35 grandchildren: Karlo (Nhaji) and Ken (Jocel), Ricky (Dora), Leng (Boy), Vher -deceased (Alice), Maritess (Nhito), Josie -deceased, Ronnie (Leah) and Rody (Aiza), Marissa (Ferdie), Danny (Emma) and Rosie (Danny), Celia (Vener) and Juliet, Lito (Marlene), Marivic (Ghil), Carlo (Rosie) and Jaycee, Michelle, Joyce (Jason), Jasmin (Darryl) and Chris (Krista), Jane, Mark, Monica and Donald (Ling), Edlyn (Rommel), Leizel, Edward and Loriebelle, Agnes, Alma and Ariel, Patrick and Nicole, 62 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Along with his late wife, they were the co-founders of the Original Filipino Seniors Association of Manitoba (OFSAM). He was a devoted Catholic and offered his heart to the Lord of Pardon. The family would like to thank Maples Personal Care Home staff, especially Dr. Smart, 2nd floor nurses and health care, who provided their exceptional patience, compassion and understanding for the past two and one-half years. Tatay, Lolo, Thank you for all your love and support you have given us. To accommodate family members travelling from the Philippines, the family is planning the Lamay and Funeral Mass to occur at later dates as noted below. Lamay to be held at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. (corner of Keewatin and Inkster), on Thursday, March 13, commencing at 6:00 p.m. and on Friday, March 14, also commencing at 6:00 p.m. Prayers will be held on Friday evening in conjunction with the second evening of Lamay with Monsignor Enrique Samson presiding. Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St., on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. with Monsignor Enrique Samson Celebrant.
