MARY POPOWICH After a lengthy illness, Mary Popowich (Chernhoski) born June 27, 1928 passed away in Stonewall hospital on March 6, 2008. Mary was born and raised in Teulon, and after her marriage to Bill, they moved and resides in Stony Mountain their entire lives. Mary worked for many years at the General store and was very involved within the Stony Mountain community. She is survived by her brother Pete (Jean); sisters, Sophie, Polly (Allan), Madeleine (Bruce) and brother-in-law Fred. Many nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by husband Bill; her parents, Carl and Polly; sister Joyce; brother Mike (Mary). The family would like to thank on Mary's behalf longtime caregiver Ellen Monro, present caregiver Mickey Dixon, her friend Bonnie Penner as well as home care along with the Doctors, Nursing and Staff at Stonewall Hospital. With special thanks to Paula, Dan and Stephanie. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations to a Homeless shelter or Food bank of one's choice if so desired. Rest in Peace, Aunty Mary. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Interment will follow in Stony Mountain Cemetery.
