Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANK S. WELCH May 12, 1923 - March 6, 2008 On March 6, Dad left us to rejoin with his beloved wife, Louella. Born in Winnipeg, Frank graduated from Isaac Newton High School in 1941. In 1943 he joined the RCAF where he trained as an air gunner instructor on Lancaster Bombers and served on coastal patrol on the east coast until he was honorably released in 1946. In 1947 he met and married Louella and enjoyed 57 wonderful years until her passing in 2004. Frank was employed for most of his working life at CN Express - rates office, until he retired in 1981 at age 58 to enjoy his family at the cottage in Winnipeg Beach. Living in West Kildonan for most of his life he also supported the West Kildonan Legion Branch 30 and served a term as First Vice President. His greatest joy was in his family and he never missed an opportunity to brag about any of his four children, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren whenever there was anyone to listen. Life was always full of guitar playing, golfing and curling in his earlier years and his love and heated discussions of hockey and football in the later years. Frank will be lovingly remembered by his children, son Darren (Jill); daughters, Carla (Bryan) Clarke, Joanne (George) Wessler, Maureen (Mike) Sorokowski and their families, along with his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue W. Funeral arrangements in care of: WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE, WEST AT BOND ST. 224-1525
