Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONNA RUTH MARSHALL (nee HETHERINGTON) We, the family of Donna Ruth Marshall, announce with great sorrow her passing at St. Boniface Hospital at 12:30 a.m. on March 10, 2008. Donna is survived by her immediate family, her loving husband Tommy; her three special children, Leah (Dwight), Dru (Lesley), Peter (Nicole); her adoring grandchildren, Jonathon, Matthew, Joshua, Kate, Liam and McKenzie; her brother Bill (Joyce); her sister June (Jim); her sister-in-law Shirley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Donna was predeceased by her brother Jack and her parents John and Ruth Hetherington. Donna, a wonderful wife, mom and grandmother, was a beautiful person inside and out. One of the world's sweethearts, she was a loving, caring, giving and dedicated individual who always put everyone first, many times at her own expense. Donna possessed a wonderful sense of humour, and was always able to find the best in everyone. Her favourite pastimes were walking, traveling to sunny beaches and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Donna was a registered nurse who graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 54B. Her caring and loving ways were ideally suited for her chosen profession. Over the course of her nursing career, she held positions as the supervisor of nursing at the Victoria General Hospital, as rehabilitation consultant at Great West Life and as a nurse on the Palliative Care Ward of the St. Boniface Hospital. Her greatest love was bedside nursing, and we know that the patients she nursed were richer for the experience. The family would like to express their deepest admiration and support for the nurses, doctors, and support staff of 7A West of the St. Boniface Hospital. As a former nurse, Donna thought your service was above and beyond expectations. In accordance with Donna's wishes, there will be a private Celebration of Life in the near future.
